A Day Late

June 2, 2011

Hi Hi! Glad you guys enjoyed my post in Bikram Yoga. I’d encourage you to give it a shot – most studios (if not all) have new student specials that allow you to try it for two weeks unlimited at a really low price. Don’t be scared! Everyone is so focused on themselves that they don’t even look at you.

I did celebrate National Running Day a day late by completing a 5 mile run at the gym. I really wanted to run outside, but there was a potential for rain. I also hate that when I run outside I don’t have access to the weights and machinery at the gym for a strength work out afterward, but that’s a whole different story.

My run today was a 1 mile warm up, 3 miles of intervals, and then a 1 mile cool down. I then did workout B from stage 1 of the New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women (I’m going to post about it soon, I swear!). I still had a bit of time left so I finished up with an easy 15 minutes on the elliptical.

OUTFIT:

Realized I hadn’t been wearing this vest/sweater much so I created an outfit around it.

BREAKFAST:

Breakfast cookie, just for variety’s sake. And because they’re the most delicious ugly-looking breakfast ever.

I’m planning a post on the lunches and dinners that have helped me survive this insanely busy week at work. There have been some great new finds!

CAN’T. WAIT. FOR. THE. WEEKEND.

sUch a cute outfit! 🙂 How do you do intervals? (That sound moronic, I meant it how do you specifically do them haha). I feel like I need to start doing intervals and I”m always kind of afraid of them lol.

Cute outfit! And this picture makes me think that I’m making breakfast cookies (a la Fitnessista) wrong because mine are definitely a harder consistency!

I love that you posted about Bikram earlier today. I went to my first Bikram class since last July this morning! It was intense, but I love the feeling afterward. 🙂

I have a vest just like that in black, love it but don’t wear a lot! I was super bummed yesterday when I missed my Bikram class, they are so great!

I really like The New Rules of Lifting For Women, but I have one complaint/reservation about it… it promotes a lot of inclusion of protein supplements into your meals! I ABSOLUTELY use protein supplements in my day, but I like to pride myself on finding less-processed ways to get protein into meals like my breakfast, such as egg whites in oatmeal instead of protein powder! But of course I know that the author had a bias, and the supplements probably help beginners out a lot. Just my two cents!
